Beyond Horizon

In the fall of 2007, a large number of Horizon employees volunteered to take part in the company's first team-up with the non-profit housing ministry Habitat for Humanity. The house was completed in time for the holidays, helping a deserving family in Urbana, Illinois, get a fresh start. More projects to build homes with Habitat for Humanity are scheduled for the future.

Habitat for Humanity

There's no better example of Horizon Hobby's commitment to the community than the partnership with Habitat for Humanity, a non-profit housing ministry that works toward eliminating poverty housing and homelessness. In late 2007, Horizon built its first house with Habitat for Humanity, helping provide a new home for a special family in Urbana, Illinois (Champaign's "twin" city). The house was completed in time for the holidays. With help from subcontractors, it took a small army of Horizon employees from throughout the company, who volunteered their time, just 12 days to build the house, allowing a needy family to begin a new life.
