The Technical Writer is responsible for the research and development of User and Quick Start Guides that assist customers with the assembly and use of Horizon Hobby radio control products. The position will be responsible to update technical and end-user documentation in a professional and effective manner, focusing on style and standards as well as world class content. Will participate in technical review cycles and editorial review cycles. Must be familiar with and able to write in a minimalist style where ease of translation is a factor.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • BA in English, Journalism, Communications or technical related field.
  • 3 years of technical writing experience.
  • Strong knowledge of FrameMaker, Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Experience working with multiple groups and teams.
  • Experience in HTML a plus.
  • Illustration experience preferred.

    The Category Development Manager – Spektrum Servos is responsible to coordinate the efficient development and manufacture of high quality servos for aircraft, and surface models for the Spektrum brand.

    The Category Manager – Spektrum Servos will be directly managing and developing the Spektrum servo products to ensure that development of new product continues moving forward on schedule. The Category Manager will also interface with many different elements of the overall development team.     The Vice President – Chief Financial Officer will report to the Chief Executive Officer and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the Company.     This position is focused on developing new electronic components for both rotary- and fixed-wing radio-controlled model aircraft. Typical projects will be items such as single-axis MEMS-based gyroscopes, multi-axis flight stabilization systems, electronic speed controllers, and other similar devices.

    The EE will be responsible to manage all aspects of development, including hardware and software development and troubleshooting. Hardware development will likely be managed by directing others.

    The EE need not be a circuit design expert, but should have enough understanding to skillfully guide others through appropriate requirements. The EE should be comfortable programming in C/embedded software and be able to code his own software. Prior work experience with controls engineering required.

    The Product Developer - Electrical Engineer (PDEE) is responsible for the design and development of battery chargers, electronic speed controls(ESC's) and related products.

    The PDEE is responsible for creating all development and product requirement documents, block diagrams & circuit schematics, verifying PCB layouts, verifying PCB case design for interference, identifying key system components, validating BOM's and creating and assisting in the creation of operational software..

    The PDEE tests all new development systems and product prototypes and assists Test Engineering to verify that new products meet all published specifications and have all required agency certifications. The position assists in the development of production test methods and equipment.

    Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in EE or CS.

    Horizon Hobby has a full time opening in our IT department for a Support Analyst with Sharepoint experience. The position is responsible for day-to-day support for our Sharepoint websites and other business products. This position will support and maintain websites using Sharepoint and will also do some development work. These websites support the day-to-day operations of many internal business units and some external customers. Sites are both internally and externally hosted.

    The position includes working with business units to develop solutions - including gathering requirements, architecting and designing sites, and developing final products. It will also include end user support, and troubleshooting problems with the applications. As the principal Sharepoint administrator, the person in this position will be responsible for developing standard processes, procedures and documentation to support sites. He or she will also be responsible for training other IT staff in administration, troubleshooting and support techniques.

    This person will resolve clients' software application questions or problems in the areas of configuration/setup, product functionality, defects and enhancements.In addition, they will work as part of the project team to provide support for new releases, including Q/A testing, documentation and training of other business solutions.

    Qualifications/Experience:

  • Must have at least 1 year of experience supporting Sharepoint applications.
  • Must have at least 2 years of helpdesk and/or desktop support experience.
  • Must have excellent communication and problem solving skills.
