Making a difference in people's lives through our commitment to serving and
our passion for hobbies
Hobbies for Good represents all the ways Horizon Hobby extends our time,
talents and resources into the community at large. Our people love to serve
others and engage in meaningful causes. They've raised money for cancer
research, provided food and shelter for families in need and contributed aid
for victims of Katrina and the earthquakes in Haiti and Japan. Some of our
largest hands-on efforts have included the complete sponsorship and
construction of two Habitat for Humanity homes in Champaign-Urbana, IL as well
as the construction of 10 cinderblock homes for poverty-stricken residents of
Juarez, Mexico.
Whenever possible, we strive to make a difference using our model hobbies as a
platform to help people. We are honored to donate our own radio controlled
cars, helicopters, airplanes, boats and model trains to help numerous
charitable organizations raise money for great causes. One of our biggest
thrills is when we send product overseas to help our active military men and
women relax in their much deserved time off. It's not uncommon to find
"Horizonites" sharing their passion for our hobbies by helping out in schools,
youth groups and clubs.
At Horizon Hobby, we believe that financial success flows from our core value
of servant leadership, not the other way around. For us, doing good and doing
well are directly linked. We are motivated by our vision and values to serve
and to make a positive impact in the world. We are proud of our employees'
dedication to stepping up whenever there is a need. Our people are part of
something much bigger than themselves and they can be counted upon to make a
difference in people's lives.
